Social Workers are known for their commitment to serving others. Most join the helping profession with one aim in mind…assist others by any ethical means necessary to reach their maximum potential. With this mindset, a large percentage of social workers blindly and in some instants knowingly fail to serve and take care of themselves. This presentation will assist social workers with understanding that burnout is strongly correlated with self-sacrificing of one’s personal needs to serve others. This presentation will also assist social workers with understanding that it is impossible to provide high quality client service if they are not personally living a thriving lifestyle.
